End punctuation verification rules for Greek (SDL Trados Studio)

SDL Studio allows to run some standard verification tests. One of these is Check that source and target end with the same punctuation (accessible from Project Settings > Verification > QA Checker > Punctuation > End Punctuation).

When using Check that source and target end with the same punctuation there are some TUs flagged which should not be flagged when it comes to Greek.

In Greek, the character for the question mark is “;”. Therefore, a sound QA check should expect the “;” symbol at the end of a (Greek) target sentence when the source (English) sentence ends in “?”.

The screenshots illustrate the problem.

To replicate the functionality of Check that source and target end with the same punctuation in a way that is sound for Greek, go to QA Checker > Regular Expressions > Action > Import Items, import the endpunctuationgreek.zip file (once you download from translatum and unzip it first!), check the Check regular expressions option, close the dialogs and run Verification with F8.

Also, make sure you have not checked the standard Check that source and target end with the same punctuation check.
